Monday's Must-Have -- Michael Stars Prism Scarf

There is not a ton to say besides the fact that I am obsessed with this Michael Stars scarf. I tried to find a better picture (& failed), but you can check out how amazing this scarf is for yourself here. It's silk, has bright colors, is a good price, and is big enough that you can use it as a wrap. How amazing!?

I also found this other scarf by Michael Stars on Piperlime. It is the same as the one above details-wise, except a different print.

Do you own a scarf that you're obsessed with?

Oscar Fashion

The dress choices for the Oscars were significantly better than the rest of awards season -- The Red Carpet was great, while the show itself was 'meh' (though I tend to always feel this way!). Here are a few of my favorite looks from the show.

Anne Hathway in Atelier Versace -- Gorgeous! This was my favorite dress of hers (out of 8!), and one of my favorites from the entire show

Mila Kunis in Elie Saab -- Amazing color for her, gorgeous dress (and, be prettier!)
Hailee Steinfeld in Marchesa -- Stunning & also age appropriate. Bravo to her stylist, she has looked great all season!
Jennifer Lawrence in Calvin Klein -- In a word, flawless. Such an improvement from the neon pink from the Globes!!
What looks did you love from last night?

Red Carpet, Green Dress!

So excited for the Oscars tonight -- my friend & fellow Gamma Phi CC is hosting a party & I can't wait to catch up with everyone & partake in lots of snacking! The Red Carpet is obviously my favorite part -- I am obsessed with green lately, and am hoping that one of the celebs will be sporting a green gown, a la Lea Michele in Catherine Malandrino at the SAG Awards this year -- stunning!

In honor of my newfound love for green & upcoming St. Patrick's Day festivities, here are some great green pieces --

Fill in the Blank Friday!

1. I am currently obsessed with Malbec. I am totally a white wine kind of gal, especially when I am only drinking & not eating. I have been trying to branch out & have red -- I like Pinot Noir, Cabernet Sauvignon & Syrah (& blends!), but I will always choose white over red. Currently, though, I cannot get enough Malbec in my life!

2. Today I am relaxed because, this is the first weekend in about six weeks that I am not traveling or have a visitor (even though I have loved every second of it!) I have been craving a weekend without obligation where I can get errands and cleaning done -- and get some rest in too!

3. The age I am is _24 and the age I feel is 24. I am stuck in between wishing I was still in college and wondering what I am going to do with the rest of my life! I am in desperate need of a five-year plan!

4. My favorite place is my home (where I grew up!). Everyone tells me when they visit my childhood home that they feel super relaxed there, & that's exactly the way I feel as well. I am super close with my mother and love when I get to go home and spend time there. I love sitting on our porch year-round.

5. Something I have been procrastinating is writing my Thank-You's for my birthday gifts. I usually write them within a day or two post-birthday, but it has been a week. Yikes!

6. The last thing I purchased was two pairs of Bling and one pair of Mega Party Bling from JoJo Loves You.

7. The thing I love most about my home is the exposed brick. My living room and dining area is entirely exposed brick, which has always been a dream of mine! And of course, my lovely roomie, AB! :)

I am obsessed with these little "About Me" posts! Fill in the Blank Fridays is courtesy of Lauren from The Little Things We Do.... You can even link your posting to hers! How fun!

Hope everyone is enjoying their Friday!

Friday Favorite -- Rain!

The best kind of rain, of course, is a cozy rain.
-- Susan Allen Toth, England For All Seasons

I don't know about you, but I love the rain. Of course, no one likes having to trudge into work in the rain -- however, what is better than a lazy day at home watching the rain fall through the window? Today's Friday Fave is rain (maybe an odd choice, but I do love it!).

Even though it is a workday, and I prefer rainy days to fall on the weekends (optimal relaxation time, ha!), I cannot wait to get home and begin rainy-day related activities!

Read a Magazine or a Short Book -- I love reading, but it always falls by the wayside in my routine. I used to read a book every week or so and I most definitely do not anymore. Rainy days are great to go through a magazine you bought, or to read a shorter novel (Nicholas Sparks, chick lit, etc.). I like reading shorter books in a day or so, and rainy days give me that opportunity.

Organize & Re-Fold Your Dresser -- I feel lame adding this to the list, but there is nothing I love more than organizing. Every now and again, usually on a rainy day, I take the time to pull everything out of my drawers, give them a good fluffing and re-fold them. I also love to go through other storage items and get rid of things I no longer need.

Take a Nap -- If there is one thing I miss about college, I miss the naps that I always could find a justification for. The best naps, in my opinion, are rainy-day naps. I love cuddling up under a throw and snoozing for an hour or two.

Drink an Excessive Amount of Tea -- I love tea, especially Tazo Refresh, Trader Joe's Green Cranberry, and Yogi Kava Stress Relief (you can find this at Whole Foods).

Have Soup in an Oversized Mug -- Campbell's chicken noodle soup with an entire sleeve of Saltines is a guilty pleasure, and I only allow myself to have it when I am sick or when it is raining. I also love tomato soup with a grilled cheese, & especially love lentil soup.

Watch an Entire Season of an Old TV Show You Used to Love -- The O.C., Laguna Beach, Friends, Dawson's Creek... pick your poison.

Call Someone You've Been Meaning to Catch Up With -- Your grandmother, a friend from high school, or anyone else you miss talking to regularly. I love when I can call an old friend who I have not spoken to in awhile and I have so much to tell them, and they have so much to tell me! Everyone's busy, and it is difficult to keep in touch with everyone you care about as much as you'd like, and rainy days give you the opportunity to do so.

Is it raining where you are today? What do you like to do when it rains?

Aww!

When I was little, I loved Anne Geddes photographs! So, I happened to stumble upon this page today, and they reminded me so much of Anne Geddes (but maybe better?!)! I was absolutely amazed at how imaginative this mother is! A Finnish mother creates different scenes and takes photographs of her baby asleep in them. How adorable?! Here are some of my favorites --

Bugs Bunny Baby!

Most Adorable Fisherman of All Time

Little Red (Pink) Riding Hood

Mary Poppins
They are all so creative & cute -- but my favorite is definitely the Mary Poppins photo! You can find the rest of the photographs here.

Birthday Bliss!

Last Friday, I turned the dreaded 24, but thankfully, I have wonderful family, friends and my boyfriend to help me celebrate! In addition to my spa day with AB (and my Tory case!), I also was able to celebrate my birthday weekend with my sissy and my boyfriend.

A few highlights from my birthday weekend...in photos!

Cutest card courtesy of my sorority sister, HB! And yes, that is a polar bear and a hedgehog having a martini. I'm obsessed!! I appreciated all of the cards, facebook posts, texts and calls from my loves!

Jo Malone perfume in Lime Basil & Mandarin (the boyfy did an
excellent job picking out the scent!)

Jo Malone candle in Sweet Lime & Cedar (uber relaxing) from TM!

Louis Vuitton Key Pouch in Damier Ebene Canvas (perfect grabbing your keys, some cash, your id, and credit card all in one place) from TM :)

Bobbi Brown Pretty Powerful Palette (four eye colors, perfect pink blush, and 3 glosses with just a hint of color) from my sissy!

Decadent homemade fondue made by my blessed-with-excellent-cooking-skills sister! Paired with wine from our trip to Napa, and angel food cake (made from scratch, much much better than what you can get from a box!), freshly whipped cream, and berries for dessert!

Photo Op at the Lincoln Memorial with TM after feasting on guacamole at Rosa Mexicano (the place for good chips and guacamole!). It was 80 degrees on my usually freezing birthday, what more could I have asked for!?

Trip to Baked and Wired for an iced tea and cupcake in Georgetown Saturday! The line was longer than long, but sooo worth it!

View from Proof, where my sister, her boyf, and my boyf had dinner Saturday evening. In addition to the food, wasn't the view amazing!? Proof is must if you're visiting the Nation's Capitol!

Homemade French Toast to finish off the amazing weekend! Thanks Bee & JZ for your hospitality!

Thank you all for making my day so special!

Bella Sante

My roommate, AB, and I have birthdays 4 days apart. To celebrate, we went to Bella Sante for a spa day! It was our first time there, and it was incredible. We both got the Phytomer Head-to-Toe Body Ritual. The spa is super chic, with infused waters (cucumber or strawberry and orange! yum) and amazing robes. The treatment consisted of a full body exfoliation (with lavender, uber relaxing), followed by a body wrap with a hand and foot massage. Once I was all wrapped, the ritual also comes with a facial complete with a cleanse, exfoliation, mask and scalp massage. The treatment is 120 minutes of pure bliss! The exfoliation and wrap made my body feel completely renewed from the icky, harsh weather outside! I am definitely going to make it a winter requirement! The facial was also amazing and will definitely be back to Bella Sante for future treatments!

I picked up the lip balm from my treatment, The Lip Slip by Sara Happ. It is heavenly, and available on Bella Sante's website!

AB also made my life when she gave me a Tory Burch cosmetic case a birthday gift! A picture of the case is shown, except mine is in a berry color! Thank you, AB! xoxo

Life Lately!

Hi Everyone! So, I haven't had much time to update my blog because I have been super busy, but I am happy to be back! I want to update everyone on what I've been up to, so I am going to separate it into a few postings!

So, last week I celebrated Valentine's Day with my boyfy, TM at K.O Prime in the Nine Zero hotel. I love steak, and was excited because it was my first K.O experience! Can I just say, the food was amazing. When decided to get a lot and try a little bit of everything. We started out with cocktails and ordered the foie gras with kumquat-bourbon marmalade, beef tartare with jalapeno aioli, and a frisee salad with bacon, marcona almonds, poached egg and a tangy vinaigrette. I enjoyed them all but the frisee salad was beyond good. For dinner, TM had the rib eye chop while I had the NY sirloin. My steak was decent but I loved the rib eye. We were stuffed after the appetizers but managed to have some of the sides we had ordered with our steaks -- short rib macaroni and cheese, mushroom risotto (my favorite part of all), and rosemary frites. The best part was the fact that we both had leftovers for days after! I highly recommend K.O for a relaxing evening with impeccable service. They also have a great wine and cocktail menu, so it is an ideal spot for a quiet drink!

I posted a few pictures on my Posterous.

Hope everyone had a lovely love day!

P.S. Can I just say, that I am going with my roomie, AB, tomorrow to a spa for a birthday treat, and I am beyond excited!

Loving Archie Grand!

I have been searching for the perfect, unconventional notebook to keep my friends' and family's birthdays & mailing addresses, and fell in love with Archie Grand: Notebooks for Friend & Foe. I originally saw them at J.Crew -- they are super cute, quirky, and blank on the inside which is perfect for what I need. The color selection is also amazing!

Sadly, not all of the styles from this Swedish-born venture are available in the United States, but I did find a great selection here.

I think am deciding between "Celebrities I Met and Liked" and "Shopaholics I Met and Liked". I also love the "Husbands I Had and Liked" (haha!).

The small Archie Grands are $11, while the larger style runs for $26.

What other fun notebooks should I consider?

SAG Awards Part II - Natalie Portman's Faboosh Earrings

I just realized that I will inevitably be posting about earrings at least once a week, because I am obsessed! Did anyone else love Natalie Portman's earrings from the SAG Awards (wish I could say the same about her dress)?! Unfortunately, I do not have $2 million dollars laying around to buy them from Tiffany's! During my every-day-at-noon GiltGroupe session today, I was looking through the CZ by Kenneth Jay Lane sale, and saw that he has a pair of earrings that are identical to the ones Natalie wore (you know, minus the whole white & yellow diamonds set in platinum and 18k gold aspect...). Unfortunately, they are all sold out on Gilt, but I managed to find them on Endless for $129!

Here are the earrings Natalie wore --

Here are the earrings by CZ by Kenneth Jay Lane --

Amazing!

How is everyone's Friday?!

Friday Factory Faves... FLATS!

This morning, I woke up to an exciting e-mail from J.Crew -- Their factory store now has flats! How fun. Generally, I feel like their 'factory' items are the same quality level as their in-store pieces, so I always feel like I am getting a good deal. I immediately hopped online and they have some good styles -- mainly, they are styles J.Crew sold last year, but are classic and won't go out of style, in my opinion (unless, flats themselves go out of style, which, I hope not! ha!). The price range for the factory flats are $69-$79. Such a good deal! Here are my favorites --

Abby Metallic Toe-Cap Ballet

Blume Ballet

Patent Tortoise Ballet

Pom-Pom Metallic Ballet
The above styles all are $79. I am so excited about the addition of shoes to J.Crew's Factory Store(especially since it is now online)!

Something else exciting from J.Crew today --

Take an additional 30% off all factory online sale items. Use the code MUSTSHOP at checkout!

SAG Style

Is it bad I only watch awards shows is for the pre-carpet show on E!? Last Sunday, I caught the SAG Awards & I sadly was not overly WOWed with the dresses on the red carpet. There were some nice pieces, but nothing made my jaw drop.

Here are my favorite looks --

Food Faves from Last Weekend

Last weekend, my college roomie from junior year, AR, came to visit from NYC! I had so much fun with her and cannot wait to go visit her and hit up the Taco Truck near her apartment, ha! Here are my favorite things we had to eat --

Sunset Cantina's Nachos -- Sunset Cantina is a BU Girl staple meal. They have the best margaritas, you must try the Lime & Coconut (on the rocks, with salt!). Their nachos are super good, and, as you can see, are HUGE. We met up with a few sorority sisters and feasted!

North Street Grille's Bloody Mary -- A bloody mary was so necessary Saturday morning. Even better than the bloody mary was the fact that we didn't have to wait for a table! Amazing.

Back Bay Social Club's Beignets -- After dinner at 94 Mass Ave. Saturday night, we were so craving something sweet. These beignets really hit the spot - delicious!

I apologize for the less-than-stellar quality of these photos.. However, I will be getting a new berry very shortly! Yay!

My other college roomie/sorority sis, CB, is coming to visit me this weekend. We plan to hit up Flour, Cantina Italiana, and Houston's. I am so excited to see her!

A Coffee & Tea Addict's Dream!

While perusing the aisles of Whole Foods today, I found the perfect mug to use at work. I have seen these a few times and bit the bullet and bought one today. This is the Eco-Cup Reusable Porcelain Coffee Mug, the cousin of the "I am Not a Paper Cup". I bought it in white with the white sleeve, but you can also buy super bright lids and sleeves - I'm obsessed! They also come in fun patterns like these --
Pretty Patterned Eco-Cups

Eco-Cups for Tea have Little Teapot Weights for your Teabag!

Cutest Colored Lids and Sleeves!

You can pick one up at Whole Foods, like I did, or you can also find them on Amazon - they have a great selection of the different lids and sleeves!
