How gorgeous is Camilla Belle?

I must admit, I have never seen any of her films, but she always looks stunning on the red carpet so I am a huge fan of hers.
She rarely 'misses' in my book.

And thank goodness she is no longer dating Joe Jonas (downgrade).

MDW

Friday ...

I partook in a little karaoke action at the Charles Playhouse Lounge with TM, ML & PH. I got to meet ML's baby sister, who is a doll & working at Anthropologie this summer. I can't wait to have an excuse to stop by the store often hehe. One of my besties CP & her roomie KA also came by, it was so good to see them both.

Saturday ...
I came across these beautiful peonies near my apartment. I wish I could have peonies at my apartment all year round, they are stunning.
TM & I had lunch at Hillstone. I am obsessed with their chicken fingers, and how fab does this margarita look?! TM got a crab Po' Boy. We were able to get a seat outside. It was so nice to be a part of the bustling Faneuil Hall while enjoying our food.

We stopped by Acquire, one of my favorite boutiques in Boston. To my delight, they began carry Leighelena cuffs, which I originally saw on Have Your Cake and Eat It Too. Elizabeth is a doll & I always see new, exciting products on her blog -- Leighelena is based out of Texas, but Acquire's owner is friends with the designer (hence why I was able to find them all the way up north :)
TM was feeling particularly generous and picked up the turquoise stingray one for me (after I had tried them all on at least five times). I love it so much! It will definitely be a wardrobe staple. Thanks Boyf :)
The rest of the day was spent lounging on the Rose Kennedy Greenway which is mere steps from my apartment. I love living in the city and having a place where I can lay out amongst all the tall buildings. It's very cool. I wore a chambray dress from J.Crew which was a good idea because it was so hot out. The Greenway also has wireless internet & water fountains where you can cool yourself off. So ideal.
For dinner, TM & I went to Aragosta & sat outside. We have been there for drinks & the food was delicious! They had a risotto side and I wish it was an entire entree because I would definitely go back just for that!

The rest of MDW & this entire week is being spent with family -- Wedding Wednesday!

Happy Memorial Day to all!

Hope everyone is enjoying this gorgeous weather.

friday's fancies

Per usual, I am linking up with {av} for Friday's Fancies!
ff :)

Splendid dress - Kendra Scott earrings - Chloe clutch - Irene Neuwirth cuff - Chrissie Morris shoes

Next week, I will be in Maine for my cousin's wedding on Bar Harbor. It is a daytime wedding, I hope the weather is warm and breezy. I love Maine so much. I think it is such a beautiful state. I cannot wait to see my family and celebrate ET becoming EE!

I definitely think I am going to go with a simple dress (like this Splendid one, love the color!) & load up on accessories. Irene Scott has amazing pieces, a tad out of my price range, but perfect for FF purposes :) I have seen a lot of people wearing this specific pair of Kendra Scott earrings & I'm obsessed!

How gorg are these Chrissie Morris sandals? I always lean towards sky high heels when I am shopping online, but I always, always, always end up buying flats. These are so unique & chic.

The Chloe clutch is a perfect thing to complete this look. I love the texture since the dress is so plain (yet pretty!)

What are your plans for the weekend??

P.S. today is my 100th post!!!!!!!!!! yay!!!!!!

la la la

happy thursday my dears...

today was an interesting day for me -- i was planning on going to the doctor to get something checked out, and it turned into a day of tests -- thankfully everything is a-ok. needless to say, the stress completely tired me out and i felt kind of blah, so i decided to enjoy what was left of the day since there was no time to go back to my office. i picked up an iced passion tea (i could suck down 5 venti passion teas everyday in the summertime...trust) and headed to the Pru.

lv josephine wallet

i decided i wanted to get my louis vuitton 'josephine' wallet (that TM gifted me this past xmas) monogrammed. the interior of the wallet is red and i thought a gold monogram stamp will look amazing on it. so i stopped by lv to drop it off, then realized i have a gift card from RC+CB that i 'needed' to spend. i picked up the toiletry pouch 26 and i am so so excited that they had it in stock as i have been wanting it for awhile. i have seen people use it as a clutch when they go out, so i think i am going to be trying that as well :)

toiletry pouch 26

also, did i mention my initials are VL, like LV, therefore i am destined to own as much lv as one can possibly acquire in their lifetime? i'm nuts. also, i was pleased to see that my absolute favorite bag that i want SO badly (the artsy mm) also comes in leather now...o. m. g. need!!

so i have also decided that i think i want to start vlogging... only issue is that i don't have a camera on my computer (my next investment is going to be a macbook)...but TM does...what do you guys think?!

My BFF: The Black Tank

The absolute most important item in my closet is a good black tank.
When I find a blank tank I love, I buy at least 3 of them.
I just found the best black tank from H&M, only $5.95 (a-mazing) but looks very similar to this Splendid tank ($81, woof).
So...go buy one.

You can pair a black tank with anything in my opinion.
It adds a sense of effortlessness to any look, which I love.
When in doubt, I just throw on a black tank and bam. done.

Here are three ways I sport my fave item--

Tank: Splendid /Wrap: Catherine Malandrino / Flats: Tory Burch /
Bag: Chanel / Jeans: MOTO / Earrings: Giles & Brothers

Tank: Splendid /Skirt: Etro / Shoes: Yves St. Laurent / Bag: MBMJ / Necklace: Amrita Singh / NARS Illuminator / Topshop Lipstick

Tank: Splendid /Bag: Zara / Earrings: Hermes /
Bangles: Kaur Collection / Shorts: Cacharel / Wedges: Matiko

What is the one item you always fall back on to complete a look?

- w i l w -

I'm loving
TEAM GHOST RIDERS.
No, really, it's a monkey that rides around on a dog at sporting events.
Doesn't really get any better than this.
See the video here.

I'm not loving
ARNOLD SCHWARZENEGGER.
What an asshole. I feel so bad for Maria + their children.
I am sure John Edwards will be providing his unsolicited opinion about the situation shortly.
Did you ever notice that all famous/publicly-known assholes band together?
Case in Point:
Jon Gosselin + Michael Lohan
Charlie Sheen + Mel Gibson
Paris Hilton + Brandon Davis
All of them are complete asshats.
Moving On...

I'm loving
the return of Real Housewives of New Jersey!
I always tell myself I'm going to stop watching, but I really cannot help myself.
These ladies are highly entertaining. So happy they're back!

I'm loving
Sam Edelman's Gigi Sandals.
And the fact that they're on sale on Piperlime.
I have them in black and love them!
I think I want the gold. And the pink+brown. And the white.

Link up with Jamie and share what you're loving this Wednesday!

Lust!

top - bottom

I am such a sucker for sparkles + I am lusting after these rings by Dara Ettinger.

So unique, but classic enough that they'll definitely
remain a part of your permanent wardrobe.

Which is your fave?

Back to Blogger!

Okay, so last week was the busiest week ever at work -- MIS! And then, I was so excited to blog Thursday & post my Friday's Fancies for {av}, and blogger was down. Anxiety! So it's been a whole week since I've blogged!

Here are some updates on my life ...

- I saw Something Borrowed last week with CP (those of you who follow my tweets know this already!). I definitely like the book better, but I loved the movie! How cute was Ethan the entire time?! I had doubts about Kate Hudson being Darcy but I think she did an amazing job!

- I spent the weekend in Montreal with my old roomie HL! It was so great to see her new digs. She lives right downtown in a great apartment, I am so envious! It was rainy all weekend long which was a bummer, but it was amazing to see HL and I cannot wait to see more of the city next time I visit!

- I am officially obsessed with All Seasoned Chips (straight from Canada!). They are a combo of every delicious chip flavor imaginable. I also picked up a ton of Cadbury and Nestle chocolate (British kind!) , macarons and croissants!

- It is going to rain in Boston so I've decided I am booking myself a spa day for this weekend. I am definitely getting a massage, but hopefully a facial and mani too.

Here are my Friday's Fancies -- I loved the outfit so much I needed to post, even if it is a bit delayed...

5Preview Oversize Tee
Moto Indigo Bootcut Jeans
Hermes Carina Ballet Flats
Chloe Marcie Hobo Bag
Kate Spade Faceted Stud Earrings

How was everyone's weekend??

I'm excited to be back to Blogger!

The Iris Sandal.

wild berry / sandstone / tropical green

If J.Crew knows anything, it knows how to make an amazing shoe.

The new Iris sandal is utterly perfect in my opinion.

The style is classic.

The perfect sandal for any outfit.

And it gets even better:
the Iris also comes in patent leather, tortoise + snakeskin.

Now, if I could only figure out which pair I like best...

Evening Recap!

Ladies...

Hope you're having an amazing weekend so far! I know I am :)

Last night, TM & I finally went to Pigalle.
But first, he surprised me with the most gorgeous bouquet full of deep purple calla lilies, tulips, and red and yellow roses + a bottle of Veuve. So cute.

We headed to the restaurant & the traffic in the North End was absurd, the cab fare was almost $10 by the time we got out (to put in perspective for you, it would take three minutes to casually walk this distance, so maybe .15 miles). It was ridiculous!

Pigalle is bordering the South End and the Theater District in Boston. You turn the corner from the bustling Theater District to find this quiet looking french restaurant (p.s...it had an outdoor patio which I am going to be frequenting this summer!).

The service was impeccable from the moment we arrived.

We started off with cocktails. I had a drink called Linda's Lemonade which was citrusy and all sorts of delicious. TM had something called a Lucky Cat (? I forget the name! haha).

For appetizers, I had an arugula salad with fingerling potato crisps and fried goat cheese. It was light but full of flavor. It was probably one of the best salads I've ever had (the other being the frisée from K.O Prime which I raved about here). TM tried the Tuna Martini with seaweed salad, spicy crème fraiche and Tobiko Roe. I am not at all a seafood type of gal, but TM informed me it is the best tuna dish he has ever had.

For dinner, I had a mushroom risotto with shaved parmesan and brunoise of root vegetables. Our waitress helped me pair the perfect pinot gris for my meal. TM had the roasted sirloin with aligot potatoes, short rib hash with red wine sauce. The were both excellent -- we kind of split them because we were both deciding between these two dishes! The sirloin was cooked to absolute perfection. The risotto melted in my mouth. I was actually in heaven. The food was so delicious I didn't want to leave anything behind but I was so, so full and didn't feel like vom.com-ing on my anniversary haha!

Oh yeah, and we also got a side of truffle cheese fries because they sounded too good to not order. They were extremely rich so I only had a few.

After dinner, we went to Aragosta which is in the Fairmont Hotel on Battery Wharf. This place has these amazing fire pits. I cannot wait to go and sit outside there this summer! In true Derby style, TM had a few Mint Juleps & I had a Pomegranate & Cucumber Mojito.

We topped off the evening with PH & ML at Stanza de Sigari for hookah (& I had an espresso martini). It was such a random decision but so much fun. I love Stanza, except when you leave you absolutely reek of smoke. I need to get my jacket & dress dry cleaned, most definitely.

Today I definitely need to hit the gym & hopefully partake in some Derby festivities.

Sunday, I hope to visit my mom and treat her to a mani & a nice dinner out!

What do you all have planned this weekend?

Friday's Fancies - Anniversary Edition!

anniversary FF

Marc by Marc Jacobs dress
Chanel bag
Louis Vuitton gold ring
Lola Rose stone ring
Christian Louboutin pumps
Anna Beck bangles

First, I want to say Happy Anniversary to TM!
I couldn't ask for a better boyfy! Thank you for putting up with me :) haha.
xoxoxo
(I won't get too sappy on here! Promise)

Second, the outfit.
Ideal.

The CL pumps are TDF. I need a pair of nude pumps... Why not have them be Loubs?!

I love the look of this dress. I always try on brightly colored dresses but when it comes down to it, I always pick black! I don't know why. This MJ number is gorge!

I am all about rings. I have a gold ring with an amethyst that I wear on my middle finger on my right. I have a bunch of vintage pieces from my grandmother (she is the chicest woman alive)
and everyday I wear one of her rings on my left hand, middle finger (I actually tweeted about one here).
Anyway, I am so so obsessed with this Louis Vuitton ring. It is amazing and I need it in my life. The end.

This is probably the 9856943rd Chanel bag I've featured on here...How badly do I need a Chanel!?
This one is plum & perfect.

(How many times have I used the word "need" in this post/this blog in general?? Issues!)

What would you wear on an anniversary date?!

Link up with my girl {av} for Friday's Fancies! You won't regret it :)

The Flatform -- Friend or Foe?

Platform: n. a shoe with a thick sole sitting under the front part of the foot. This style of shoe can have a variety of different heel types. also known as: Disco Boots (never knew that).

Flatform: n. Really?

What are your thoughts on flatforms?

I think they are quite bizarre.

They kind of remind me of bricks/building blocks/not shoes.

I feel like they would make my average (or at least I think average) 7.5 foot look gargantuan.

Also -- how do you walk in them?

I feel like I want to like them, but my mind is telling me "please don't".

Do you enjoy flatforms?
Are you adding any to your closet this season?

Want!!

RB got the silver version of these as a birthday gift from her roommates & I have been lusting after them ever since.

I am so happy Tory came out with a gold version.

There are so many things on Tory Burch right now that I adore -- her New Arrivals are all TDF.

What is catching your eye this lovely Tuesday?

Product Review

If there is one thing I have gotten across to you, lovely readers,
it is that I love Kiehl's.
I have been a die-hard Amino Acid Shampoo + Conditioner fan for awhile now.

My hair is really thin + fine, so my hair gets oily easily.
Kiehl's has kept my hair looking as good as possible,
but lately I have had the desire to pump up the volume.

I decided to give Kiehl's Rice and Wheat Volumizing Shampoo + Conditioner a try.
I am loving it so far. I have been using it for the past two weeks.

I have given up on the possibility that my hair will be voluminous all day long, but these products definitely help the cause. Most conditioners make my hair oily by the end of the day + weigh my hair down, so I used them sparingly, which in turn made the ends of my hair super dry (especially in winter).
...fail.

The Rice and Wheat conditioner adds a lot of moisture to my tresses without weighing them down. Just what I was looking for!

And it doesn't hurt that they smell delish.

I think these are going to be my shampoo + conditioner from now on.
If any of you have thin, fine hair, I would absolutely recommend this to you.

The only issue?

I used to buy my old shampoo in a 1 liter pump, and my conditioner in a 16.9 oz and they lasted sooo long, and the Rice and Wheat line only come in 8.4 oz., so I will have to order it more often.

What type of shampoo+conditioner do you all use?
Are you loyal fans of one brand? Or do you switch it up?

xoxo

Best Time to Buy

Don't you hate the times where you want to avoid logging into your online bank account?
Sometimes I actually cringe while I do it.

I also oftentimes check my balance assuming, for example, that I have $500,
and I look and I have $17 and my jaw DROPS.

Then you sit there and think "No, no, this is impossible",
proceed to hit "Account Details" to view the breakdown, and think,
"Oh, OHHH right I bought that, I went there, Yup, that too..Shit".

Friends, this happens to me ALL TOO OFTEN!

Real Simple posted an article about the best times to buy,
some of which surprised me. I wanted to share the info with you ladies!

Sandals -- March
Wouldn't you totally assume that the best deal on sandals would be at the end of the summer? False.
In other news, I bought 4 pairs of sandals this past March. Go me.
(but really, not 'go me'....isn't this post about saving money?)

Raincoats -- April
April showers bring May flowers. Retailers don't have too much time to sell rainy weather inventory before it gets sunny, so they offer killer deals on this merch.
Guess I waited for the right month to buy my Burb packable!

Thrifting -- April & May
Spring cleaning causes a lot of people to donate at this time
& there is a huge influx of stuff to thrift stores.

Athletic Apparel & Sneakers -- May
Retailers offer huge deals on workout apparel to lure customers into the stores
& to get rid of inventory.

Swimsuits -- August
Stores are eager to get rid of their inventory before the warm weather is over.
This is so valid. Last year I saw the Trina Turk suit I bought in April for an eighth of the price at Lord & Taylor in August. fml.

Denim -- October
People tend to spend less after splurging on "back to school", so stores have big promotions.
There is also a surge of designer denim into discount stores like Marshall's/TJMaxx.

Pajamas & Slippers -- November
These are popular holiday gifts, so they go on sale right before then.

Outwear -- December
Stores want to take advantage of people shopping for the holidays!

Sorry, this post is a tad contradictory as I first complain that I spend all my cash monay and then talk about all the different things to buy and when.

I suppose if I am going to buy these things that I may as well get them when I can get a good deal? Haha!

What are your shopping tips?
